H. Shall obey local, state and national laws as the guidelines for action. If the administrator feels the law is not adequate, he/she shall work to change it, but not violate it or act in such a manner that circumvents the law. I. Shall initiate procedures to recommend, secure and retain the most competent and best-qualified teachers and employees and to recommend those for dismissal who do not meet the standards of competency for quality teachers and employees. V. RELATIONS WITH PUPILS AND PARENTS The school administrator: A. Shall recognize and maintain the dignity and worth of the individual when dealing with pupils, parents, or legal guardians. B. Shall keep in strictest confidence all information relating to pupils’ abilities, deficiencies, or behavior and shall not release such informa- tion except to authorized persons or agencies. A. Shall not invade the privacy of pupils, teachers, and other employees by making personal information or name and address lists available to agents, salesmen, or other commercial interests. B. Shall not obligate her/himself or the school district through accep- tance of individual gifts, remuneration, or personal discount, but shall award orders and contracts only on the basis of need and value. C. Shall not act as an agent or salesman for any item purchased by the school district. A. Shall show evidence of personal interest in the profession through con- tinuous study and active participation in professional organizations. B. Shall apply for a new position only when it is known to be vacant. C. Shall not misrepresent his/her academic degrees or professional cer- tification. The administrator shall represent only academic degrees or professional certification from institutions approved by the appro- priate regional accreditation association, or by the United States Department of Education. I. COMMUNITY RELATIONS The school administrator: A. Shall take appropriate steps to keep the community continuously informed about schools. B. Shall recognize and seek to understand the social patterns of the community. C. Shall consistently assert the role of personal and professional leader- ship in the best interests of the school and the community. D. Shall avoid the use of pupils, school personnel, or school data in the promotion of partisan politics, commercial advertising, or personal gain. II. RELATIONS WITH BOARD OF EDUCATION The school administrator: A Shall not actively endorse, circulate petitions, or campaign in the election of candidates for the Board of Education. B. Shall honor contracts and agreements of employment made with the Board of Education until fulfilled or released. C. Shall see that the abilities, personal characteristics, and qualifications of administrators, teachers, and employees are not misrepresented. D. Shall keep the Board of Education fully informed as to school opera- tions through the proper channels. E. Shall expect a job description from the employing Board of Education upon acceptance of contract and periodic evaluation of services dur- ing the contract. A. Shall initiate or recognize requests for information and promptly exchange with other administrators accurate and complete informa- tion pertinent to all employees and pupils of the school system or systems involved and make certain that all such information is kept confidential. B. Shall not indulge in irresponsible discussions or comments concerning other administrators or school systems. A. Shall assume responsibility in the selection, assignment, and supervi- sion of all employees and contribute to their professional and occu- pational improvement. B. Shall see that basic contracts and supplemental duties are stated according to the statutes of the State of Ohio. C. Shall see that all salaries offered are consistent with existing adopted salary schedules. D. Shall acknowledge the good performances and contributions of employees and refuse to accept credit for the services or work of others. E. Shall discuss problems of teachers and other employees only with the people concerned and in strictest confidence. F. Shall not use the administrative position to unduly influence or force employees to subscribe to political causes. G.
