Morgan Fund Joins Morningstar 500 I am adding JPMorgan Value Advantage JVAAX to the Morningstar 500 . The fund, which has a Morningstar Analyst Rating of Silver, is run by Jonathan Simon, who has been lead manager since 2005 . Simon looks for high-quality value stocks with barriers to entry. However, he will make some oppor- tunistic bets on turnarounds as well. The fund is peppered with blue-chip names such as Wells Fargo WFC , Exxon Mobil XOM , Pfizer PFE , and Loews L. From the start of Simon’s tenure, the fund has returned an annualized 9 . 36% versus 6 . 76% for the Russell 1000 Value and 5 . 92% for the average large- value fund. The fund has outperformed its peer group in each calendar year since Simon took over, and it hasn’t lost to the index by more than 94 basis points in a year.
