U.S. Department of Education (McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2001, codified at 42 U.S. Code § 11301 et. seq.) The federal law relating to homeless children requires that “public notice” of the educational rights of homeless children be “disseminated” by the local educational agency liaison in places where such children receive services provided with federal homeless funding, such as schools, family shelters, and soup kitchens. 42 U.S. Code § 11432(g)(6)(A)(v). The law does not require a poster as such, but it appears that the purpose of such law may be fulfilled through the use of appropriate posters and other materials.
