By a three-fifths majority, a board of education may elect to hold a non- partisan primary election. Such election shall be held only if the number of candidates is at least one more than two times the number of available positions on the board of education at the general election. Such provision may be revoked by a three-fifths majority of the board of education five years or more after the adoption of the original resolution of the board. In the course of administering the elementary and secondary achievement assessments, the following information of a student or the student’s family may not be “collected, tracked, housed with, reported to, or shared with any entity, including the federal or state government”: social security numbers, religion, political party affiliation, voting history, and biometric information. The Licensure Code of Professional Conduct, as developed by the Educator Standards Board and approved by the state board of education, appears in its entirety as Appendix H-1 In addition, the Ohio Department of Education has prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the code of conduct, and it appears as Appendix H-2. Granting the leave is subject to the availability of a satisfactory substitute teacher and a cap of not more than 5% of the professional staff. The teacher on leave may be compensated a partial salary, which cannot exceed the difference between the teacher’s expected salary and the substitute’s pay.
